Our mission:

“The officers were very kind. One was here before and was very, very professional. He had a lot of empathy. They were not intimidating to my son, and sat and talked with him. I was very impressed with him. He went above and beyond. Dan from Crisis is awesome! ...
I’m glad the police here have the CIT team. It truly helps.”
— mother of an adult son who was in crisis and had CIT officers and members of the mobile response team come to their home

Advocacy

We advocates at the individual and systemic levels to remove the stigma in our society unfairly associated with mental illness. NAMI Racine County works hard to protect rights of individuals living with mental illness. We are dedicated to increasing access to care, eliminating stigma, and working with law enforcement and government agencies to promote the welfare of people affected by mental illness.

Education

Educational programming offered at no cost by NAMI Racine County demystifies metal illness and can help individuals, loved ones, and the greater community achieve a comfortable understanding of mental illness. NAMI Racine County provides programs focused on personal wellness, family dynamics, law enforcement practices, suicide prevention, youth mental health, and for healthcare professionals.

Support

We believe that sustained wellness can be supported by others who have lived through similar experiences. NAMI Racine County offers support groups for individuals with mental health conditions, for loved ones of those with mental illness, and a special group for teens.
